Interview
As a senior college student, we’re facing with graduation and job-hunting in no more than 3months.
Thus, in our spare time of study, we often think about the ways to handle all theprocedures in job-
hunting: selecting appropriate and suitable employers, sending ourapplications, preparing for
interviews. Among all the procedures, it is undeniable thatinterview is the most difficult but
significant procedure to handle. However difficult it may be,I still regard interview as an dispensable
procedure to choose the right employees. Myreasons are as follows.
Firstly, as for employers, interview is a good way to sort out the best applicants.
Throughcommunication person to person, employers can easily distinguish whether the applicantsare
suitable for the post or not. They can judge it from their words, behavior, demeanor orattitude.
Interviews act as a great sifter by which the good applicants are reserved and theseinferior are sorted
out.
Secondly, as for employees-to-be, interview is a great arena to show your ability and toimpress the
job-suppliers. Seizing the chance, interviewees can show the employers howexcellent they are, how
eloquent they are, what kind of edge do you have on your competitors. As long as you prepare well for
the interview, you can confidently answer the questions raisedcleverly and fluently, and without doubt
the job is almost in your hands.
Thirdly, as for those relatively introverted job seekers, interviews can also of great value tothem.
Perhaps you may ask:” These introverted people are always shy, they can be sonervous that their face
may turn red, and their bodies may even shudder when the interviewkicks in. They stand a fat chance of
getting an edge in interviews, why should you say theycould benefit from interviews?” That’s true to
some extent, but if looking from another angle,we may find that interviews provide them great
opportunities to train themselves to betalkative. After weathered several times of misery and
disappointment, these shy people maylearn to become sociable. So there introverted ones should never
frown at engaging ininterviews for it is a necessary procedure for self- improvement.
From what we’ve mentioned above, we can easily see that interview is useful and beneficialto employers
as well as candidate employees, no matter he is outgoing or shy. Since interviewis an unavoidable and
fairly important procedure in selecting appropriate employee, weshould take it seriously and make a
comprehensive preparation for it. Only by doing so can weland a decent job successfully.
