一．关于话题
天气与人类的生活息息相关，谈论天气，是老百姓最关注的话题之一。在英美更是如此。当英国人和生疏人在一起的时候，他们经常会谈论天气，因为英国人不喜欢谈论他们的工作，收入以及家庭等私事。因此，谈论天气是他们在公共场所和生疏人开始交谈的最好的方式之一。这也是初次接触英美人士最保险的话题。西方人常说 “Mentioning weather can be a useful and inoffensive way of starting a conversation”（以谈论天气为谈话的开场白，既惯用，又不得罪人。）但他们很少为谈论天气而谈论天气。生疏人在一起的时候，如在火车上，在候车室，为摆脱彼此面面相持的尴尬局面，人们会不约而同地谈论天气。由此可以自然地引出许多的话题。另外，了解当地的天气状况和近期的天气变化，能够为人们的日常生活，工作，出行旅游等的安排避免天气变化带来不必要的麻烦。在写作中weather涉及的主要内容有：a. Describing weather ( sunny, cloudy, windy, rainy, hot, warm, cold, cool, etc.) b. Understanding weather reports (conditions, temperature, rain, snow, wind, sun, cloud) c. Dressing for the weather (coat, hat, umbrella, raincoat, windbreaker, etc.) d. Extreme weather (storms, gales, hurricanes, etc.) 1. 常见描述天气状况的词汇有：rainfall(降雨), snowfall(降雪), storm(暴风雨), sandstorm(沙尘暴 ), temperature(气温 ), bright, clear, fine, sunny, windy, cloudy, rainy, snowy, foggy(有雾的 ), cool, hot, dry, wet, warm, cold, chilly（严寒的）, freezing, frost(霜冻)etc.

说明：这种句式是口语中表示同意的一种强调形式，isn’t it读降调。谈论天气时，比较有礼貌的表示赞同对方的看法，回答时常用 “Yes, isn’t it?”也读降调。
