allow\permit 之间的区别
allow permit这两个词的意义与用法相近permit这个词稍微正式一些，其意义为“答应”“准许” , 其句型为：
1、allow/permit sth
2、allow/permit sb to do sth
3、allow/permit doing sth
如：
①.This plant allows one hour for lunch.
这家工厂答应一个小时的吃饭时间。
②.He would not permit the waste of a single grain.
他不答应浪费一粒粮食。
③.They don't allow/permit people to smoke in the offices．
④.We don't allow/permit smoking in the offices．
⑤.Talking loudly is not allowed/permitted in the library.
但是allow可以与状语小品词连用，permit则不能 如：
①.She would it allow me in．
她不愿让我进去
②.Mery isn't allowed out at night．
晚上不答应马丽出去。
以上两句中的“allow”不能用permit代替。
