- Walking around the classroom - unless you're better wired than I am, it tends to keep you tethered in 1 place.
- Poor planning - shows up even worse when you add technology.
- Infrastructure inadequacies - even more important when tech is in the mix.
- Makes it even harder for mediocre administrators to tell who's doing a good job. They're easily snowed by PowerPoint(less).
- Takes even more after-school time to learn (in addition to all the grading, meetings, paperwork, etc.).
- When it fails, it really screws up your day.
- Another darn thing to lock up - I'm running out of places to put stuff.
- Creates additional reasons for faculty divisiveness - the SmartBoard Haves vs. the Have-Nots.
- Administration never sets aside money for replacement batteries - if you want it to work, you end up buying them yourself.
- Gives you another reason to be locked into that job/school/district.
