My name is Laniel. I am 10 years old. One day in the year 2000 I remember a hurricane hit our town. It was a really bad hurricane. The streets were full of water. The rain kept pouring harder and harder every minute. I felt really bad for the poor people living on the streets during that hurricane. When the lights went out, I remember that we tried not to care about the horrible sound of the heavy rain.

Tsunamis are usually caused by strong earthquakes that happen in the ocean. Great sea waves rush towards the coasts. If the people along the coasts don’t know a tsunami is coming, they may be hurt by the waves and even die. As I walked up the hill, I could hear the snow crunching5. When I reached the bottom, I fell over and could feel the snow in my hands, and then I ate a little of it. After sliding down the hill several times, my mom took me home. I then built a snow wall. At 8:00 p.m. I stopped and went inside. That was the best snow day I’ve ever had!
