Jack无意中发现Underdog能说话,他们都惊奇极了。Underdog碰到了Molly的宠物狗Polly,并爱上了Polly……
Jack: Dad? Is that you? Hello? Come here, boy. Did you hear something?
Underdog: No. Did you?
Jack: Did you just talk?
Underdog: Huh? What? Hmm? Whoa, whoa ... Wait a minute. You can understand me?(They are both surprise d at each other and shout loudly. Jack runs out of the house.)
Jack: OK. OK. Deep breaths. Get some fresh air to the brain.
Underdog: Wait. You! Person, just wait.
Jack: What did you just call me?
Underdog: Sorry. I don’t know your name.
Jack: Jack. Stop talking to me.
Underdog: Look, I can’t stop talking to you, Jack. I’m crazy. If we’re going for a walk, you may want to get the book back.
Jack: What?
Underdog: I have that special feeling. Maybe you’re the problem. A strange kid can suddenly talk to dogs.
Jack: All right. How did you learn to speak English?
Underdog: How should I know?

(Underdog is crazy about Polly when he sees her first.)
Underdog: Uh, hello. I’m Shoeshine.
Polly: Oh, well, hello. I’m Polly.
Molly: I think she likes him.
Polly: I’ve never seen you. Are you new to this park?
Underdog: Oh, yeah. You smell wonderful. Like a pig’s ear.
Polly: Excuse me. Pig’s ear?
Underdog: No, no. I, uh ...
Molly: Well, I’ve got to get going. Come on, Polly.
Polly: Master calls.
Underdog: So, uh, will I see you again?
Polly: Look, you’re cute, but we can be friends, OK? See you later.
Underdog: Friends? Friends? I don’t
